For our purchasing team in Biatorbágy, we are looking for an
Associate Buyer (m/f/x)
Located in Hungary and part of the European Procurement team, the Associate Buyer (m/f/x) is responsible for all purchasing activities to support NIO’s production plant of the Power Swap Stations in Biatorbágy.
You will be part of a high-performing and agile team with a direct report to the Purchasing Manager. Cross-functional engagement with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Legal teams is vital for successful delivery and performance.
You are providing best-in-class procurement support to NIO’s organization, driving sourcing activities, supporting digitalization and process automation efforts, and delivering on savings goals and objectives.
The job is located in Biatorbágy, HU, Erdőalja u. 1, 2051 Hungary.
What you can expect:
- Drive procurement activities primarily in areas of plant-related services as well as production material (metal machining, raw material, welding, die casting, etc.);
- Co-ordinate and manage supplier nominations and long-term strategies within a chosen commodity group;
- Conduct RFQs, select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and analyze spend. New supplier identification and introduction into NIO.
- Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Negotiate, execute, and monitor contractual agreements with suppliers.
- Minimize total cost and project risks driving cost-down activities utilizing known and robust commercial tools (ex. cost estimating processes, benchmarking, cost analysis, …)
- Ensure adherence to NIO’s sourcing and procurement policies. Development of procedures to ensure effective work methods.
- Act as project leader in cross-functional project teams
What you bring:
- Higher education degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, (Business) Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or another commercial field preferred but not essential.
- 1 - 2 years of procurement experience in manufacturing or, ideally, the automotive industry
- Team player with excellent intercultural communication skills, completely at home in an international work environment
- Flexible and dynamic mindset
- Confident user of MS Office package, MS Project and MS Outlook, ability to gather and analyze data effectively. SAP experience would be an advantage
- Fluency in English and Hungarian is critical to this role, additional language(s) are a plus
- Excellent negotiation skills
